Musée de la Course Landaise Museums in Bascons

The Musée de la Course Landaise, located in Bascons in the Landes region, is the place to be to discover the history and traditions of this regional sport. It was created by the "Friends of the Museum" association in 1999 and is housed in a former manor house, the Maison de la Course Landaise. The museum offers a chronological and thematic tour that traces the evolution of the Course Landaise, from its rural origins to its current professionalization.

There you will find authentic objects, such as bullfighter costumes, period photos, posters, videos and trophies. These collections illustrate the emblematic figures of the Landes bullfighting, the rituals and the art of the écarteurs and jumpers. The museum is also a place of memory which pays tribute to the actors of this sport, from the couriers (the cows) to the men (écarteurs and jumpers).
