Bascons is a village located in the heart of the Landes region, at the crossroads of Gascony, Béarn and Armagnac. The town is known for its rich architectural heritage, notably the Saint-Amand church, a listed historical monument. This church, built on the site of an old fortified castle, retains a watchtower, battlements and arrow slits, witnesses to the troubled periods the village has experienced. There is also a Louis XIII pulpit and gilded wooden statues. Another emblematic place is the Saint-Amand chapel, which adjoins a well whose water was once reputed to be miraculous.

The town of Bascons is also famous for its close ties to the Course Landaise. The village is home to the only chapel in France entirely dedicated to this traditional sport: the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Course Landaise, a 15th-century building. In addition, the town's arenas, built thanks to local volunteers, are a must-see for enthusiasts.
