Chalosse Museum Museums in Montfort-en-Chalosse

A few minutes from Dax, between the pine forest and the Pyrenees, Chalosse, with its fertile and hilly landscape, offers another face of the Landes.

Formerly made up of varied agricultural crops (vineyards, cereals, orchards, meadows), the Chalossais bocage is a land of high gastronomic tradition, renowned for its foie gras and its authentic labeled beef.

A richly furnished mansion, the garden and the sharecropping house, the cellar and its astonishing press, the vine conservatory, the working bread oven, the animals... At the Domaine de Carcher, everything evokes the agricultural and wine-growing Chalosse of the 19th century.

Equipped with a media library, a public service, a temporary exhibition room, the Chalosse Museum is a veritable conservatory of the Chalosse identity, with its beliefs, its know-how and its techniques. SCHEDULE:

• Until October 30, 2022: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• From October 31, 2022 to February 28, 2023: only for groups, by appointment, Monday to Friday.
• Total closure: from December 17, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
