Arènes du Plumaçon Arenas in Mont-de-Marsan

The Plumaçon Arena in Mont-de-Marsan, built in 1889, is an iconic landmark in the town. It replaced the previous wooden arenas, which were destroyed by fire. Expanded in 1933 in a regionalist style, it is labeled "20th Century Heritage" and can accommodate up to 7,000 spectators. These arenas are at the heart of local bullfighting culture and are the setting for the famous Fêtes de la Madeleine, which take place every year in July and attract hundreds of thousands of visitors for bullfights and Landes bullfights.

Today, they continue to be used for concerts and other shows. They can also be visited to learn more about the history of bullfighting and bullfighting. In front of the entrance, the statue of the "Torero" by the artist Mauro Corda pays tribute to this important aspect of the local tradition. The Plumaçon bullring is therefore a place of life and gathering, witness to the anchoring of the bullfighting tradition in the region.
