Arènes Joseph Laudouat Arenas in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains

The Joseph Laudouat Arena in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains is a focal point of bullfighting and festive culture on the southern coast of the Landes region. Built in 1964, it takes its name from the former mayor of the town, Joseph Laudouat, who encouraged their permanent construction after the era of demountable arenas.

With a seating capacity of around 3,000, these circular- style arenas, reminiscent of Spanish bullrings, are the scene of many summer events. They vibrate in particular to the rhythm of the Course Landaise, this traditional spectacle combining courage, elegance and acrobatics in front of the cows. They also occasionally host bullfights and are a nerve center of the cultural and festive life of the seaside resort.
