ABOUT DAX, AN ANCIENT CITY AND EUROPEAN'S LEADING THERMAL SPA CENTER

Since "Aquae Tarbellicae", its first name in Roman times, meaning the water of the Tarbelli, Dax has been renowned for its hot waters, of exceptional physico-chemical and microbiological purity.

At the forefront of innovation, the Grand Dax Public Water Service laboratory and the Dax Sludge Authority have implemented a process unique in the world for the preparation of TERDAX® thermal mud.

The innovation lies in the conditions of meeting and mixing the elements, as close as possible to the conditions of the natural maturation of the peloid, made up of silt from the Adour, mineral water, blue algae from Dax (or cyanobacteria) and clostridium bifermentans.

Dax is today a leading resort in rheumatology, phlebology and fibromyalgia and has no less than 16 thermal establishments, including a thermal hospital, which receive up to 60,000 spa guests each year.
