Nestled in lush greenery on the banks of the Gaves rivers, come and discover our exhibition which reflects the centuries-old history and expertise of Maison Barthouil. A family-owned and independent business for three generations, Maison Barthouil is located in the southern Landes region, in the heart of foie gras country and at the confluence of the Pyrenean Gaves rivers where the precious wild salmon of the Adour River migrate upstream.

Founded in 1929 in Peyrehorade, our company was originally a delicatessen.
Over the years, we have continued to produce tasty, carefully crafted products that remain true to the traditions of our region.

During the guided tour, you will discover the amazing migration of wild salmon from the Adour, as well as those of waterfowl, the traditions and history of this Orthe region.

But also the manufacturing secrets and centuries-old gestures of Maison Barthouil: its unique know-how of old-fashioned smoking with alder wood from the Adour marshes, its involvement in rustic peasant duck farming and a traditional preparation of fattened ducks.
