About

  • English
    • The Saint-Sauveur church is located in the heart of the fortified town of Hastingues, a commune in the Landes region. Its first construction dates back to the founding of the fortified town in 1304. The bell tower of this primitive church, one of the oldest in the region, inspired the style of several neighboring parishes.

The current building is the result of several reconstructions and restorations over the centuries. The church was largely rebuilt in the late 17th and late 19th centuries, with major work beginning in 1895. Its architecture is a mixture of ancient elements, such as the base of its bell tower dating from the early 14th century, and more recent renovation campaigns that redesigned the nave and other parts of the building. The parish church is listed in the General Inventory of French Cultural Heritage.
