A HIKING VISIT TO THE POPE'S GROTTOS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE

Reservations required from April to September.

Accompanied by a guide, embark on a walk through the heart of the Chalosse region to the archaeological site along the Caves Trail. During this hike through forests and meadows, discover the evolution of the landscape, flora, and fauna, and journey back in time to the era when the caves of Brassempouy were inhabited. Once at the archaeological site, you will receive a presentation about this exceptional place before returning to the village.

Important practical information:

Tours are offered at 9:30 am:

• Sundays, in April, in May, in June, on 06/07, in September.
• Mondays and Wednesdays from July 7th to August 27th.

Meet at 9:15 am at the PréhistoSite reception, departure at 9:30 am. Any delay will result in the cancellation of the reservation.

• Good physical condition required.
• Duration 3h30 - Distance: 3.5 km one way (7 km round trip via the same path).
• The hike takes place in a natural environment.
• Plan to wear appropriate clothing and footwear (even in summer).
• Bring a bottle of water.
• This hike is not accessible to people with reduced mobility or to strollers.
• High-visibility vest recommended.
• No pets allowed.

Prices:

Entrance to the Prehistoric Site (museum + Archaeological Park) + visit via the cave trail :

• Full price: €16.00;
• Reduced price: €14.00 (ages 5-15, students, job seekers, groups of more than 10 people)

Group hiking (associations, groups, families...)

For groups of more than 10 people and upon reservation with Coralie Lapeyre, it is possible to visit only the archaeological site by hiking.

Price: €11.00 per person.
