VISIT TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF THE POPE'S GROTTOS ON A HIKE

By reservation only from April to September.

Accompanied by a mediator, go for a walk in the heart of Chalosse to the archaeological site on the Grottes trail. During this hike between forests and meadows, discover the evolution of the landscape, flora and fauna and go back in time to the time of the occupation of the Brassempouy caves. Once on the archaeological site, a presentation of this exceptional place will be given to you, before turning back towards the village.

Important practical information:

Tours are offered at 9:30 a.m.:

• Sundays in April , May , June , 06/07 in September.
• Mondays and Wednesdays from July 7 to August 27.

Meet at 9:15 a.m. at the PréhistoSite reception, departure at 9:30 a.m. Any delay will result in cancellation of the reservation.

• Good physical condition required.
• Duration 3h30 - Distance: 3.5 km one way (7 km round trip on the same path).
• The hike takes place in the natural environment.
• Bring suitable clothing and shoes (even in summer).
• Bring a bottle of water.
• Hike not accessible to people with reduced mobility and strollers.
• Yellow vest recommended.
• Pets not allowed.

Prices:

Entrance to the PréhistoSite (museum + ArchéoParc) + visit via the cave trail :

• Full price: €16.00;
• Reduced rate: €14.00 (5-15 years old, student, job seeker, tribe of more than 10 people)

Group hiking (associations, groups, family, etc.)

For groups of more than 10 people and by reservation with Coralie Lapeyre, it is possible to visit only the archaeological site by hiking.

Price: €11.00 per person.
