Each object has the right to a second life, a second wind that Claude and Valérie are delighted to offer to your furniture, books, furnishings... in their workshop, La Gainerie d'Art, located in Port-de-Lanne in the heart of the Kiwi Valley.
Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, they welcome professionals and individuals to discover their craft of gilding, a passion that has been passed down from father to son for 3 generations. This artisanal practice consists of covering the item of your choice with leather, fabric, skai or velvet depending on the style you want.
The sheathing can be enhanced by 24-carat gold leaf gilding, 2-carat gold on plastic film, imitation gold or colored marking using gilding irons or rollers, which are specific tools used by sheathing-gilders. Rigor, passion and know-how, these are some of the values that make Claude and Valérie exceptional craftsmen who are passionate about their profession, which they share with love throughout the year.
