      A LITTLE HISTORY

Labastide-d'Armagnac is a fortified town founded at the end of the 13th century by the Count of Armagnac, hence its name. Its urban plan, typical of the fortified towns, with its central square (the Place Royale) and its grid-like streets, bears witness to this period.

Place Royale is the heart of the village and one of the most beautiful bastide squares in the region. It is surrounded by arcaded houses, which once housed shops and artisans.

The Church of Notre-Dame de Labastide-d'Armagnac, located on the Place Royale, is another important element of Labastide-d'Armagnac's heritage.
