The Barthes d'Hossegor are classified as Sensitive Natural Areas. It is a protected area, on the outskirts of Hossegor, on the banks of the Bourret. The word “Barthe” designates a marshy meadow, in Gascon. They are located along a watercourse and consist of floodplains. These fertile grounds provide abundant food for many animals and, in particular, nesting and migrating birds. Discreet observers and seasoned bird watchers will love the many vantage points along the route. The walk is well documented, with regular information boards.
