The oldest armagnac-producing family estate

The Château de Lacquy has been owned by the same family since 1711. Since the 17th century, this exceptional estate, situated at the heart of the "Golden Triangle" known as the Grand Bas-Armagnac in Gascony in south-western France, has been dedicated to the production of armagnac: a very fine and complex spirit, renowned for being long on the palate and highly fragrant. The Château de Lacquy is therefore the oldest family owned armagnac producers.

An outstanding natural ecological balance

The 400-hectare estate on which the Château de Lacquy Bas-Armagnac is produced, is a genuine ecological paradise consisting of mixed forests, lakes and wetlands. Its wildlife is also very varied and the estate is home to numerous protected endangered species. At the heart of this protected natural haven, 20 hectares of vines flourish on a light soil consisting of ochre-coloured sands (the famous "sables fauves"), rich in iron oxides and sediments of marine origins.

Ancestral expertise

Folle blanche, Baco, Colombard, Ugni-blanc - the age-old grape varieties of this famous French wine-growing area, which is unlike any other in the world, produce a legendary armagnac. The vines have always been patiently worked by hand to the highest standards. Today, this ancestral expertise, passed down from generation to generation, produces some of the best armagnacs of all. Although sometimes referred to as "brandy" outside of France, this precious nectar originating from our unique soils has no equivalent elsewhere.
