About

  • English
    • The Jean Rostand Biodiversity Centre is a place for exchange, experimentation and activities dedicated to the protection of local biodiversity in the Landes. Founded by the Landes Departmental Council, its mission is to raise public awareness, particularly among schoolchildren, about environmental issues and the importance of conserving flora and fauna.

The center has taken the place of the former Maison de la Nature and extends over a 10-hectare site that includes a Landes forest, a lake and educational gardens. The center's team works closely with local associations, scientists and local stakeholders to carry out research and conservation projects. The Jean Rostand Biodiversity Center is thus a vibrant space where researchers, educators and the general public meet to better understand and protect the natural wealth of the Landes.
