Ysabel LAFFITTE – Painter of the Landes

Originally from Landes, Ysabel LAFFITTE is a self-taught artist who has been passionate about art since childhood.

She began drawing by reproducing animals she saw in magazines, doodling caricatures and comic book heroes.

Since adolescence, Ysabel has wanted to engage in reading faces by creating portraits . Who could be better models than the singers on their 33 tours?
A budding artist facing famous artists.

After a personal break, she resumed her artistic journey with determination. She followed scenes with various artists and private lessons with Dany DUMAS, a portrait painter graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, where she perfected her mastery of drawing , proportions and perspective.
She also explores several techniques: watercolor, acrylic, oil, charcoal, etc.

Her first exhibition in Saint-Pierre-du-Mont marked a turning point: she won an amateur competition diploma there, confirming her natural talent.

In 2017, a scene with Isabelle Geli (award-winning artist in Sanremo) introduced her to her favorite technique: knife painting. She appreciates the material, the spontaneity of the gesture and the color effects. Ysabel is particularly inspired by seascapes, which she freely reinterprets through her works.
