Discover the Hydraviation Museum, a scientific and technical museum
The Biscarrosse Seaplane Museum, a four-season municipal cultural and tourist establishment with the Museum of France designation and the Quality Tourism State mark, is the place of memory of the Latécoère base for assembly and seaplane testing. , but also to commemorate a century of aeronautical history.
As early as 1930, Pierre-Georges Latécoère chose Biscarrosse for its lake protected by the dune belt, 10km long and wide, allowing large transatlantic seaplanes to take off or land there regardless of the direction of the wind. This configuration will make Biscarrosse an international hub during the golden age of Hydroaviation. This is the beginning of a unique story, forever associating Biscarrosse with seaplanes.
The Museum team welcomes you to the heart of historic buildings on 1250m2 of exhibition space where you will discover more than 3000 collector's items: restored seaplanes, uniforms, models, graphic arts, archival documents, objects, etc.Visit the Seaplane Museum

Accompanying the public in discovering the collections is the subject of a vast program of cultural mediation.
Whether for an individual visit or a family visit to the Seaplane Museum, the team offers several tools to help you visit:
Game booklets have also been available at reception since 2007 so that 3 to 11 year olds can assimilate knowledge while having fun. There are several game booklets with different levels according to the ages of the children.
Complete and detailed visitor assistance sheets that will allow you to move easily within the different pavilions. Because the Seaplane Museum welcomes visitors from all over the world, we provide information sheets in four languages: French, English, Spanish and German.
A free mobile application with three tour routes. Visit museum is a collaborative project between the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Alienor.org - Council of Museums, the IUT of La Rochelle, the museums of Poitiers and Grands Poitiers. The application was developed by IT and marketing students with professional licenses LPCDTL (Web and mobile development), MASERTIC (Marketing of Information and Communication Services and Technologies) and LPCM (Multimedia Creation). This initiative is unique in France because it offers a tool common to all the museums of New Aquitaine.
Because written cultural mediation is not suitable for all audiences, the Seaplane Museum also offers tailor-made guided tours: schools, families, leisure centres, disabled visitors, etc. The guided group tour can be given in French, English and German by reservation only. For any request for a group visit, with or without a mediator guide, reservation is mandatory at least 1 month before the desired date. Please contact the Museum directly by telephone on 05 58 78 00 65 or by email.
