Saint-Sever, a concentration of authenticity

Saint-Sever, an ancient medieval town, owes its reputation to its majestic abbey church, founded at the end of the 10th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Route of St. James of Compostela. It was in this abbey that the Beatus, a precious 11th-century manuscript, was illuminated. As you wander through its streets full of history, you will inevitably come across the Jacobin Convent, which houses a museum, or the Sentex house, a private house paved with mosaics from the Roman era. Private mansions will regularly make you raise your head!

Heritage and wine lovers, make a stopover in Tursan

It is here in Tursan that you will discover unmissable heritage treasures around the bastides and the earthenware of Samadet but also gastronomic with the wine of Tursan. Pimbo, the oldest bastide of the Landes built in 1268 and Geaune, a characterful bastide created in 1318 are to be discovered.

Live a unique experience, in the heart of Prehistory in Brassempouy

A major site of European prehistory, the Brassempouy PrehistoSite covers more than 30,000 years of human occupation. As a side note, it was in the archaeological site of the Pope's Caves that the Lady with the Hood was discovered, a small statuette made of mammoth ivory, which is the oldest representation of a human face. It is considered the Mona Lisa of Prehistory, and is today the emblem of the National Archaeology Museum where it is preserved.
