Eugénie-les-Bains: spa town in the heart of the Landes!

Eugénie-les-Bains, beauty and well-being

Eugénie-les-Bains is a new commune, which was created in 1861, it was the wife of Napoleon III, Eugénie de Montijo known as Empress Eugénie, who gave her name to this village formed around the thermal baths of Saint-Loubouer. She used to come and stay there. More than 150 years later, it is still a seaside resort that attracts for the beauty of its setting and the quality of its thermal facilities.

You will enjoy strolling through its magnificent thermal complex. 8 hectares of park allow your guide to stroll, to appreciate the beauty of the architecture bathed in an atmosphere of lush and rich vegetation. Discover the Grands Therme, the Thermal Farm which is located in an authentic Landes farm.

The Empress Source offers water at 19.5 degrees, which helps in the treatment of ailments thanks to its minerals and properties treating problems of the digestive and elimination system. The Christine Marie source is at 42 degrees and participates in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatism as part of cures.

The pride of the village is the restaurant for spa guests, run until 2024 by Michelin-starred chef Michel Guérard (who sadly passed away). Since then, chef Hugo Souchet has taken up the torch, passionately preserving the gastronomic values of an iconic chef. You can come here as part of a spa treatment, but you can also eat à la carte.

These are magnificent gardens located in Eugénie, they are relatively recent (1990s) and replace an old marshy area and uninteresting landscaped land. Today, everything is done to highlight the town thanks to this pleasant space, offering a magnificent view at the top of the fountains and waterfalls. There is a rose garden there, in the summer, it is a deliciously fragrant place, you will enjoy admiring a multitude of varieties of roses, of all colors !

What to do in Eugénie-les-Bains ?

• You can come to one of the thermal establishments (which belong to the Chaine Thermale du Soleil ) to do an approved treatment, a mini-treatment, enjoy the thermal spa and taste the delights of Chef 3's “ Grande Cuisine Minceur® ”. stars, Michel Guérard.
• To do sports in this town combining well-being and serenity, take a walk in the magnificent landscaped park. Sports and leisure facilities are present there, such as a 9-hole mini-golf course, an outdoor fitness course, play and sports areas, a bowling alley... Walking enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of the marked trails (3 of different lengths) in the town and its surroundings.
• The patronal festival on the second weekend of August is the opportunity to attend Landes races in the arenas. In September it is the gastronomy festival that brings life to the village.
• Nearby, you can go wine tourism by visiting the vineyards of Tursan and Madiran (in nearby Béarn).
