Le marais du Plata Nature Reserve in Sore

In the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park , Sore is located in the heart of the Petite Leyre valley. This beautiful river has carved out a valley and its bed is a marshy area which hosts exceptional flora and fauna. Even if today the immense original swamp has been partly drained by the establishment of the Landes pine forest, the Marais du Plata has been maintained and remains a very interesting natural space. The guided tours that take place there will make you discover this peat bog ecosystem, the animals that inhabit it, but also the old pastoral activities that have kept it alive for centuries.
