Sentier de découverte « le Courant des Forges » Nature Reserve in Mimizan

Not far from Mimizan, in Pontenx-les-Forges, the Courant des Forges discovery trail is a 14 km hike in the form of a loop. It runs along the Courant des Forges , as far as the Etang de la Forge , then continues through the forest. By taking a little height, you can admire the Airial des Bouricos . An "airial" is the name given to the clearing which extends in front of a Gascon house.
The discovery trail reveals the history of the place, from its medieval origins to contemporary times, and in particular the forest economy, thanks to testimonies. A botanical path is also accessible. To better appreciate your walk, a guidebook is made available by the Mimizan tourist office.
