Église Sainte-Quitterie d'Aire Abbeys, Churches, Priories in Aire-sur-l'Adour

The Sainte-Quitterie church in Aire-sur-l'Adour is a jewel of Romanesque art located in the Landes region.

Built in the 11th century, it is an important stop on the Via Podiensis, one of the routes to Santiago de Compostela. The building is famous for its elegant architecture, its carved capitals depicting biblical scenes and fantastical creatures, and its frescoed apse. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France, testifying to its historical and cultural importance.
