Bureau des Bateliers Boat trip on the Courant d'Huchet in galupe in the Landes

The Huchet current , a veritable umbilical cord which flows through the Landes communes of Vielle Saint Girons , Léon and Moliets and Maa over more than 600 hectares, is one of the sites, classified as a nature reserve , the most diverse and richest in the region, whether in terms of ecosystems or biotope .

The galupe (traditional flat-bottomed boat) trip along the stretch of water connecting the Léon pond and the Atlantic Ocean allows you to discover a succession of landscapes between marshes, peat bogs and dunes , where many unsuspected and protected animal species nest, including 200 species of birds, otters, minks, grey herons, cistudes (turtles) and a quantity of fish.
In fact, the current is full of them and has become a popular place for fishermen: the trap was used by fishermen to catch eels.

Also, the boatmen will introduce you to the "Landes Amazon " which is particularly rich in flora, notably with its famous bald cypresses, its arums as well as other varieties... It constitutes a nature reserve appreciated by botanists.

Going down to the dune by gallop is a 12 km unforgettable exotic ride...

WALKING SCHEDULE

• APRIL, MAY, JUNE, SEPTEMBER, OCT: 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.: THE LITTLE WALK
  
• JULY and AUGUST: 10:00 a.m.: 2-hour walk / 2:30 p.m.: THE BIG WALK
  

INDIVIDUAL RATES

• “LA PETITE BALADE”: duration between 1h30 and 2h: €20 (adult) and €9 (under 6 years old).
• “THE BIG WALK”: duration between 2.5 and 3 hours: €25 (adult) and €12 (under 6).

GROUP WELCOME

From April 1 to June 30 and from September 1 to October 30

GROUP RATES (over 30 people)

• 1.5-hour walk: "Pas du Loup": €18 per person.

Of the prices displayed, €1.50 goes to the nature reserve.
ATTENTION!! Our canine friends are not allowed during walks.
