Are you near Dax ? Here's the first jewel of the Landes!
The Sarrat Botanical Park was created at the beginning of the 20th century by an enthusiast. Its main qualities lie in the richness of its collection of rare and ancient trees, some of which are centuries old. The atmosphere there is very special, one has the impression of walking in an enchanted forest, far from everything.
Botany enthusiasts appreciate this exceptional place for observation and discovery. The information panels, scattered throughout the park's paths, allow you to learn more about tree species that are not found elsewhere.
Do you prefer to relax? It's also a perfect place for a peaceful stroll. Its shaded paths are an invitation to stroll and meditate. You can take a break, read a book, or simply recharge your batteries.
In addition, although it is not a playground, its natural and calm environment is a source of friendly moments with the family. Children can then discover nature in a fun way.

Inaugurated in June 2025, the Laulom public garden gives a new lease of life and a new touch of green to the town of Mont-de-Marsan. Linking the train station to the town centre, passing by the Plumaçon arenas, it surprises with its botanical diversity. There is a wide variety of rare plants, exotic species and Mediterranean species, all organised in a very harmonious way.
Do your children want to let off steam? This park also has sports facilities and a skate park, perfect for playing sports together.
For those who are more relaxed, dozens of benches await you for a moment of relaxation and contemplation.

Take a trip out of town to make a discovery that will leave you speechless: the Jean Rostand Biodiversity Center.
The center takes you on walking trails accessible to all in the heart of local ecosystems. You can stroll through varied spaces, such as forest, wetlands and meadows, for approximately 3 km. Information panels punctuate the routes, providing clear and detailed explanations on the fauna, flora and different environments of the Landes. This information allows you to better understand their environment, recognize plant and animal species and learn about the fragility of these habitats. There are also temporary exhibitions on diverse themes, often related to biodiversity.
Volunteers run this unique center. They are the lifeblood of the place, actively participating in its upkeep, leading educational workshops for children, and welcoming visitors.

Over time, the Nahuques Animal Park has become an institution in Mont-de-Marsan. This place, with free access, is much more than just a park: it is an ideal family destination for spending a day in the great outdoors. Covering around twenty hectares, it invites you to discover local and domestic wildlife in a green and shaded setting, offering a peaceful refuge for a multitude of species.
The park's richness lies in its educational approach and its proximity to the animals. You can observe a variety of species in semi-freedom, and interaction with some of them is encouraged, particularly with the dwarf goats. Perfect for raising awareness among young people about respect for nature and local biodiversity, isn't it?
The park also offers several activities and facilities that make it a complete leisure place:

The Jardin des Barthes will be a favorite for lovers of nature and tranquility. What makes it so special is its unique location in the heart of a preserved ecosystem, the Barthes de l'Adour, wetlands typical of the region. Far from the large landscaped parks, it presents itself as a "pocket garden" where every detail is important and where one immediately feels in harmony with the surrounding nature.
The garden specializes in medicinal and aromatic plants, but also in older and forgotten varieties. A walk through it is a sensory experience : the paths are lined with plants that give off captivating scents, the colors echo each other and one feels a deep connection with the Barthes landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see.
This is not a place for entertainment, but rather a space for contemplation and education. Explanatory panels allow you to understand the role and history of plants. It is a testament to local know-how in gardening and herbalism, while integrating perfectly into its wild environment. It is a must-see for anyone wishing to discover a more intimate and authentic garden in the Landes.
Address : 480 Chemin de Lasseougue, 40230 Saubrigues
