The Courant d'Huchet, a veritable umbilical cord which flows through the Landes towns of Vielle Saint Girons, Léon and Moliets et Maa over more than 600 hectares, is one of the sites, classified as a nature reserve, the most diversified and the most richness of the region, whether in terms of ecosystems or biotope.
The trip in a galupe (traditional flat-bottomed boat) along the stretch of water linking the Léon pond and the Atlantic Ocean allows you to discover a succession of landscapes between swamps, peat bogs and dunes, where many unsuspected animal species nest and protected including 200 species of birds, otters, mink, gray herons, pond terrapins (turtles) and a number of fish.
Indeed the current is full of them and has become a popular place for fishermen: the trap was used by fishermen to catch eels.
Also, the boatmen will make you discover "the Landes Amazonia" particularly rich in flora with in particular its famous bald cypresses, its arums as well as other varieties... It constitutes a natural reserve appreciated by botanists.
Descend it in a galup to the ocean, it's 10 km of unforgettable exotic ride...!

WALKS TIMES
- 10:00 a.m.: 2-hour WALK
- 2:30 p.m.: 2-hour WALK (except July and August)
- 3 or 4 HOURS OF WALK (July and August)
INDIVIDUAL RATES
- 2 HOURS OF WALKING: "L'Ile aux Chênes" - 17€ (adult) and 9€ (under 6 years old).
- 3h WALK: "Pichelèbe" - 23€ (adult) and 12€ (under 6 years old).
- 4h OF WALKING: "Huchet" - 30€ (adult) and 15€ (under 6 years old).
GROUPS WELCOME
From early April to June 30 and from September 1 to 30
GROUP RATES (+ than 30 people)
- 1h30 MORNING WALK: "Pas du Loup": 14€ per person.
- 2 hours IN THE MORNING OR AFTERNOON: "L'Ile aux Chênes": 15€ per person.
Of the prices displayed, 1.50 euros goes to the nature reserve.
WARNING !! Our friends the dogs are not accepted during the walks.
We reserve the right to cancel in case of bad weather.
