Visit the Marais d’Orx nature reserve

This protected natural area has some nice surprises in store since not one, but two circuits are set up to discover this ornithological site. The Barrage marsh discovery circuit has 4 observatories which allow you to see ducks, birds of prey, wading birds and stork nests when you gain height. Don't hesitate to look in the ponds and bushes, the turtles and lizards love to play hide and seek! Continue on the Burret marsh circuit which is home to very different flora and fauna. Observe the Sainte-Thérèse de Labenne Chapel

It seems almost placed there by chance, on the Labennaise dune and yet, this chapel has a whole story to tell. Built in 1932, it was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War (they took away the bell) then damaged over the years by weather conditions and vandalism. Restored in 2018, it is closed to the public, but you can observe its classic architectural style, its sanctuary and its unique nave.
