La Maison de la Barthe, near Dax, is a large site, classified Natura 2000. It includes several themed hiking trails on the Barthe de l'Adour. “Barthes”, in Gascon, can be translated as “marshy meadows”. These are the swamps, meadows, peat bogs… which run along the flood-prone banks of the Adour. The Barthes ecosystem attracts many birds, which come to nest and eat there. Each walk will reveal a universe to you: water with ponds and bird watching sites, land with its marshy meadows and wooded areas ... The Maison de la Barthe is the heart of this discovery area, with a museum that will inform you about all the activities around Barthe de l'Adour.
