  Accompanied by a cultural mediator, discover the Sentier de la Dame, a walk through the Chalosse to the archaeological site of the Grotte du Pape.
  
  7.5 km hike - Paying - On reservation required - Access to the archaeological site prohibited without a guide.
  
  Please also note that the Pope's Caves will now be accessible to the public by two means: the Caves Trail and Fast Track. Here is the information about it:

  THE CAVES TRAIL
  Hike along the trail and visit the archaeological site
  Saturdays, in April, May, June & September
  Mondays and Fridays in July & August
  Departure at 9:30 a.m. - Duration 3:30 a.m.
  
  Accompanied by a mediator, you go for a walk in the heart of Chalosse to the archaeological site on the Caves trail. During this hike between forests and meadows, you will discover the evolution of the landscape, flora and fauna and go back in time to the time of the occupation of the caves of Brassempouy. Once on the archaeological site, a presentation of this exceptional site will be given to you, before turning back towards the village.
  
  Useful information:
  The entrance ticket to the archaeological site also entitles you to visit the PrehistoSite.
  Meet at 9:15 a.m. at the PréhistoSite reception, departure at 9:30 a.m.
  
  It is essential to respect the schedule for visiting the archaeological site. You must go to the PréhistoSite reception (404, rue du Musée, Brassempouy) at least 15 minutes before the start of the visit. After this time we reserve the right to refuse latecomers.
  
  Distance: 3.7 km one way (7.4 km return on the same path).
  
  The hike takes place in a natural environment. Provide appropriate clothing and shoes (even in summer), provide a bottle of water. Good physical condition required. Hike not accessible to people with reduced mobility and strollers. Yellow vest recommended. Pets prohibited.

Fascinating place with really knowledgeable staff who are passionate about the site and it's history. We look forward to going back when the grotto is open to the public. Only marked 4 stars as the grotto wasn't open, but it is well worth a visit.

We spent the entire day on site with our 5 years old son. We took the 3 activities package which are worth it. If you don’t take any activities, you won’t have much to do there. The staff was really knowledgeable and helpful. If you go there on aMonday, the cafe on site is closed but there is a farm 1 km away where you can have a great lunch.

Wonderful small museum which should be visited whenever you have the chance to go. Absolutely a must see in this area and if you are intersted in ancient times. Wonderful workshops for children...

This is a must see if you're in the area. The museum has great info & artifacts, the views are beautiful, and the interactive workshops are wonderful for the kids. The staff was very helpful...

I never knew that such carvings from this period existed. Excellent tour and in a very pretty village not far from where I was staying at Marpaps.
